Fun at the Prom

Well I didn't go to my son's prom on Saturday night ( I work at the school so I would have been able to go if I had wanted to). I missed the excitement. It seems one of my son's buddy's decided to put on a red mask and a pair of girl's panties and proceeded to "streak" through the prom. Unfortunately for him, he got suspended for three days from school. I think he had fun although he got into trouble for doing it.

I still haven't located my frog poem. But when I do, I will post it here.

I am excited to say that my web site is almost finished!! I am so happy!! I can't wait to tell all of my friends and family and past customers about it!! If you would like to check it out, it is www.lanastimelesstreasures.com.

I am also happy to note that I received an application today from one of the vendors along with her check. I am very excited about getting my vendor fair together. I have about 7 or 8 who are coming so far. I hope I can get some more!!

A Short Story

Here is a very short story that I wrote for a contest but unfortunately, I didn't win. It had to be 250 words or less. Let me know what you think:

You see, they wouldn't listen. And now we're stranded...in the middle of nowhere, with a dead vehicle and no cell phone.

I sat in the back beside my boyfriend, Ethan. "We should have stayed on the highway." I said, loud enough for everyone to hear. Ethan's glare warned me to shut up.

"Jack, what are we going to do?" Millie asked.

"Walk down this road until we find a house. We'll use their phone to call for help." Jack replied.

"What if there is something out there?" Millie's voice shook with fear as she looked at the woods. The tall trees blocked the sunlight, creating deep, sinister shadows.

The woods are the least of your worries, I thought, but left the words unspoken.

"Come on," said Jack,"we need to find a house before dark."

We walked two miles before we found a house. It sat several hundred feet off the road. It stood one story and was painted blue with red trim. It resembled a fairytle cottage.

Jack knocked on the door then tried the knob: it was unlocked. He opened the door and stepped in. "Hello, anybody home?"

We followed him inside and I shut and locked the door. "Sarah, why did you do that?" Ethan asked.

"I don't want you to leave,"I said. They stared in shock as I pulled the skin off my face, revealing the hideous beast I was underneath.

"I tried to warn you," I said, flashing razor sharp teeth,"now you're going to die."


I am hoping to eventually make this into a longer short story and enter it into another contest.

When I find my frog poem I wrote I will post it on here, too.

I need to quit being so lazy and get back into writing more.

Great Response

Hey I know I have posted about my Vendor Fair that I am getting put together. I have had several more ladies respond and I have five consultants confirm that they are coming. I am so excited about this and I hope it works out.

I am having a little bit of trouble though with my web site. It seems that I can send out e-mails from it but I can't receive any. That is a big bummer since I want to sell products on there. Hopefully, it will get all straightened out soon though and I can get my site up and running.

My son went to his first prom tonight. He didn't have a date but he went any way. I am glad that he did. He has plans to go out to he movies with his friends after wards. It is so hard to let go but I know I have to.He only has one year left before he heads off to college.

On a brighter note, I only have five and a half weeks left of work before I am off for the summer :) Yeah! I am very excited about that!!


Well, I had better go and get some stuff done before it is time for bed.

I'm So Excited

I posted yesterday about the vendor fair I am putting together. Well, I had one woman call me about it today and she wants to be in it. I also got e-mails from three more people who are interested in learning more about it. Yeah!! I hope I can get at least nine or ten people to be there.

I am also in the process of getting my own web site built. I am very excited about that, too!!

If I can find a copy of a poem I wrote last year, I will post it on here. I will try and find my little short story I wrote for a flash fiction contest, too. I didn't win unfortunately, but I will try again sometime.

Well I think is all I am going to put for now.

Vendor Fair

I am in the middle of trying to put together a vendor fair in NW Arkansas. I have only heard back from one of the seven people I have contacted. I hope I hear back from some more of them soon. I am so excited about doing this. I will get some good exposure for my business, hopefully some sales,and get some parties booked!

I hope that I can get this business up and going so I can have some extra money to do stuff with my kids.I have never got to take my kids on a "real" vacation so that is my goal for this summer: To earn the money to go on a trip somewhere. I want to have some fun with them before I am too old to have fun anymore!!


Well, enough for now. I will check in later and give an update on my progress.

Wow It's Been To Long Since I Stopped By!!

Wow, it has been a long time since I have posted on here. I am excited to say that I have started with a direct selling company called Timeless Treasures. I plan to try and get a web site put up sometime soon, but I have to get the money set aside first.

I still work as a teacher's aide but sadly, no I haven't graduated from college, yet. As a matter-of-fact, I have sat the last year and a half out but I am planning to get enrolled this summer.

I am still single. I haven't dated anyone since my engagement was broken off but that is ok. I enjoy being single for the most part, lol.

I can't believe that my son will be graduating from high school next year. He plans to attend college and get an engineering degree. I am very proud of him but boy, do I miss him already, lol.

My daughter will be graduating from 8th grade next yr when he graduates from high school then it won't be long and she will be leaving the nest. I might have to adopt me some more kids so I don't go crazy!
